A Simple Man

I am but a simple man

With a simple heart

I am certainly not a genius

But I'd like to think I'm smart

I have given my love

Yes, I have mourned some too

I have cried myself alseep at night

When I've been Lonely and blue

I have longed for True Love

sadly to never know

I have planted loving seeds

to have no crops to sow

I'll mediatate when I'm alone

Practicing poetry, I hope to hone

I wonder if I'll discover true love

The kind a man can only dream of

To weather the worst, to share the best

To stand against any test

To live my life, to the fullest extent

Until my last breath is spent

All I can hope for, all I can dream

The goal to accomplish, anything

Standing tall and with pride

With only MY POETRY sense as my guide
